Taabor Pipes

Traditionally, tabor pipes are played one handed – usually left- whilst simultaneously playing a drum or tabor suspended from the wrist with the other. Said to be medieval French in origin, particularly Provencal, the pipe and Tabor combination has survived into the revival of English Morris Dance in the early 20th century

This set, a matching C and D pipe with box all made from the same block of native Yew have customised finger rests to assist in holding the instrument steady
